Man City were thrown into momentary disarray last week when back-up goalkeeper Claudio Bravo succumbed to major injury in training, leaving them with just one fit senior stopper in the squad.
Bravo suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and has since undergone surgery, with the Chile international likely to miss the entire 2018-19 season as a result.
Given that Bravo spent two years of his career as a Barcelona player, it therefore comes as something of a surprise that Real Madrid have been quick to wish him well with his ongoing recovery.
In an official letter penned by Los Blancos legend Emilio Butragueno, the La Liga giants have offered their sympathies while praising Bravo for his "professionalism and commitment."

"Dear Claudio, on behalf of all of us at Real Madrid, especially our president Florentino Perez, I want to send you our best wishes for a very fast recovery," the letter reads. "We are very sorry about what happened, because injuries are the worst part of football, but we have no doubt that, with your professionalism and commitment, you will continue to give much joy to football fans."
The ex-Barca man responded humbly, thanking Real for offering such a "noble gesture" in his hour of need.
