Rumours rated: Dybala to La Liga, Muriel to Chelsea, Darmian to Inter

How do you separate transfer facts from fiction? David Amoyal looks at some of the current rumours and predicts how likely it is that the proposed moves actually happen.

Paulo Dybala to La Liga next summer: 10 percent

The striker might be the likeliest candidate to next break the world transfer fee record, but when? Dybala has been linked to Barcelona for past two years and he has never hid his desire to play with fellow Argentine Lionel Messi. Meanwhile, Real Madrid has great relations with Juventus, plus the Alvaro Morata trade chip. But it is more likely Dybala will stay in Turin at least through 2018 and, what's more, he is expected to sign a contract extension in the next few weeks.

Gianluigi Donnarumma to Man City: 15 percent

The second-most appealing player in Serie A after Dybala is unlikely to be sold with Milan on the verge of being taken over. But when a player picks Mino Raiola as agent, as Donnarumma has done, all options remain on the table and Raiola doesn't have the relationship with the club's new directors that he did with Adriano Galliani. Donnarumma turns 18 on Feb. 25, at which point he'll be legally allowed to sign a long-term deal. We'll have a clearer picture on his future then.

Luis Muriel to Chelsea: 25 percent

Once considered the ideal successor to Luis Suarez at Liverpool, Muriel has had a renaissance at Sampdoria and is once again being linked to top clubs. While Sampdoria has set his price at €35 million, they would prefer to sell him in the summer. Moreover, Muriel doesn't frequently show the work rate that Antonio Conte likes in a striker, although his obvious talent could force the Italian manager to make an exception.

Geoffrey Kondogbia to Chelsea: 25 percent

The French midfielder has struggled since Inter paid over €30m to acquire him in 2015, but he is still only 23 and has a good track record in the Champions League. He fits perfectly the parameters of a Conte reclamation project. New Inter manager Stefano Pioli has, however, been tasked with re-energizing the Frenchman and the next few weeks will likely determine if he'll be on the market in the January transfer window.

Kostas Manolas to Premier League: 20 percent

A clause in the Greek defender's contract that has since expired made it very difficult for Roma to move him last summer. But after receiving proposals from top Premier League clubs, Manolas is looking for a substantial raise, something his club has been hesitant to green light so far. Chelsea and Manchester United could take advantage of the situation, but a move in January remains difficult considering Roma's depth at Manolas' position.

Mamadou Sakho to West Brom: 35 percent

The center-back turned down opportunities to join other clubs on loan last summer but, after being frozen out of Liverpool's first team, his stance will likely change. In addition to West Brom, Sakho could be a good fit for Ligue 1 clubs like Lille and Nice; Serie A is also an option, especially if Roma sell Manolas or Antonio Rudiger. Liverpool would prefer a loan deal to reestablish Sakho's value but would also be open to a sale, should the right offer arrive.

Matteo Darmian to Inter: 25 percent

The full-back has been linked to Italian clubs since last summer and, with January around the corner, it's not surprising that speculation has resumed. Inter, with a dire need at his position, is monitoring the situation and Napoli could also be a factor, with Faouzi Ghoulam heading to the African Cup of Nations. However, even before he started getting playing time under Jose Mourinho, Darmian was determined to stay and prove himself in the Premier League.

Corentin Tolisso to Juventus: 30 percent

When Juve inquired recently about the availability of the 22-year-old midfielder they were told his market value is around €30m. Tolisso would bring much-needed youth to Allegri's midfield and is open to playing in Italy after almost joining Napoli last summer. The Serie A champions are also certain they'll be able to add Axel Witsel at some point in 2017 and could bring in both players if they can move some of their excess midfielders like Kwadwo Asamoah and Hernanes.

Alexander Isak to Paris Saint-Germain: 45 percent

Perhaps it's fitting, given they previously had Zlatan Ibrahimovic, that the current Ligue 1 champions are focused on signing the talented Swedish striker. But they will face a lot of competition; scouts for almost all the top clubs have seen Isak play and, while PSG has an offer of €10m on the table, AIK is looking for over 15 million for their young star. Milan, Juventus and Liverpool are ready to make formal offers, should PSG not be able to close the deal.

Keisuke Honda to MLS: 45 percent

The Japanese midfielder's contract with Milan is set to expire in June and the market to sign him is heating up. Honda would prefer to stay in Europe, but will almost certainly receive better offers from China and MLS. D.C. United was interested in signing Honda last year but, at the time, the cost was prohibitive. Now that they wouldn't have to pay a transfer fee, though, they might find the deal more realistic financially.
