Arsenal ready to snub Chelsea, wind down Alexis Sanchez's contract

The football world's gossip mill is in full swing, and Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals here.

Sanchez 'sets heart on Chelsea move'

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has decided where he wants to go -- and it's Chelsea, according to the Telegraph.

Sanchez is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium next summer, with Arsene Wenger having said talks about a new deal are on hold until the end of the season.

Speculation is growing that the Chile international could be off this summer, and the Telegraph says he "has put Chelsea at the top of his list."

However, Sanchez will "face a battle with Arsenal" to make that happen because they are not keen to sell him to a Premier League rival.

The report says "Arsenal would rather let Sanchez enter the final 12 months of his contract than see him join Chelsea -- which may leave him having to try to force his way to West London."

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 28-year-old, and reports in France say the Ligue 1 champions have begun talks with his agent.

RMC Sports claims further discussions will take place in Paris later this month.

Zlatan to join the Galaxy?

Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to join LA Galaxy in the summer, according to FOX Deportes.

The striker's current contract will keep him at Old Trafford until June, and while Jose Mourinho is confident the 35-year-old will put pen to paper on a new deal, there is plenty of interest in the Swedish legend.

Sources have told ESPN FC's Jeff Carlisle that the chances of Ibrahimovic heading to MLS are "50-50," with the decision still in the player's hands.

Only time will tell whether or not Ibra chooses to "leave a job unfinished" at United.

Shaw bet for Tottenham's Pochettino?

It doesn't appear that left-back Luke Shaw has much future at Manchester United after Mourinho accused him of being a "long way behind" some of his teammates.

The Sun says he could leave Old Trafford in the summer to link up again with Mauricio Pochettino, his boss in Southampton days.

It adds that Shaw "fears he has no choice but to leave" United and was "stunned by the severity" of Mourinho's comments.

He would fit the bill for Spurs because the Londoners "fear they will lose £50 million-rated Danny Rose to Manchester City in the summer."

String of star names set to leave City

Stand by for a major exodus at Manchester City in the summer, according to the Telegraph, which reports that up to £100m could come in from sales as Pep Guardiola "prepares for the busiest summer of his career."

Guardiola, the report says, will listen to offers for a host of names as he looks to bring in up to seven new faces.

Players on the way out include goalkeeper Joe Hart, defenders Vincent Kompany, Jason Denayer and Eliaquim Mangala, midfielders Fernando and Samir Nasri and striker Wilfried Bony.

Others including Claudio Bravo and Aleksandar Kolarov could end up leaving, though the Telegraph says that will "hinge on outside interest."

The array of departures means City "anticipate that their gross spending will be heavily offset by sales, with considerable space cleared on the wage bill for new recruits."

Tap-ins

-- Back in January, Liverpool wanted £20m for defender Mamadou Sakho, but now they have added another £10m to that price tag, the Liverpool Echo reports.

It says Liverpool "plan to cash in on the 27-year-old's form on loan at Crystal Palace" and will be "demanding as much as £30 million" for a player who is also interesting Napoli and Southampton.

-- Suggestions about who could be part of the mooted revamp at Arsenal continue to abound, and here's another: Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto.

The Sun, citing reports in Italy, says Arsenal scouts watched the Czech Republic international play at Torino on Sunday. He would cost around £10m.
