TOP STORY: Arsenal in for Boca star PavonArsenal have entered the race to sign Boca Juniors star Cristian Pavon with the Mail claiming the Gunners have made enquiries to the Argentinian club about signing the 21-year-old this month. Boca inserted a £27 million release clause in Pavon's contract, which could also be triggered by Liverpool and Manchester City, while talks suggest the Londoners are facing up to the possibility of losing Alexis Sanchez this month. Arsenal see Pavon as a replacement for the Chile international, who seems certain to be bound for City either this month or in the summer. Also followed by Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, Pavon has already broken into Jorge Sampaoli's Albiceleste squad and should feature at this summer's World Cup. Have a good night all ! 22.55 GMT: Tottenham have entered into preliminary discussions with star Dele Alli regarding a new contract. With rumours always swirling that Alli could soon make a move to Real Madrid or PSG, Tottenham are set to nearly double Alli's wages to £100,000-a-week. It is early days yet but Spurs would be wise to lockup Alli to deter clubs like Madrid for coming for the former MK Dons man. 22.45 GMT: Hearts are set to sign talented Manchester United youngster Demetri Mitchell on loan, sources have told ESPN FC. The 20-year-old left-back made his first-team debut for United late last season and should benefit from a run of first-team football in Scotland. 22.35 GMT: We mentioned earlier that Inter Milan were circling around Barcelona midfielder Rafinha. Reports from Spain's Diario Sport suggest that Arsenal have joined the race for the Brazilian midfielder. Rafinha has been recovering from a knee injury but and faces an uphill battle to try to get into an already crowded midfield. Rafinha is just the type of midfielder the Gunners are looking for, as he provides stability and tackling in central midfield. With Arsene Wenger confirming Francis Coquelin is off to Valencia, Rafinha makes a lot of sense for the London, side. 22.20 GMT: Over on the south coast, Bournemouth are in talks about bringing players in and shipping players out. Reports out of England suggest Eddie Howe and the Cherries are readying a move for Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda. On the opposite side of the coin, Bournemouth are asking for £15m for rugged midfielder Harry Arter. The Republic of Ireland international has been linked with West Ham and Crystal Palace but the Cherries have made it clear they will not sell Arter just to sell him. 22.05 GMT: Everton have been handed a blow in their hopes of signing Juventus' Stefano Sturaro. Stefano's agent, Carlo Volpi has told IlBiancoNero.com that the Turin outfit are unwilling to part with the 24-year-old. In Italy, 80 per cent of clubs want him, some more insistently than others," Volpi told IlBiancoNero.com. "Abroad, Valencia and Everton are the sides that principally want him. Stefano's situation is clear: Juve won't let him go because he's a player the Bianconeri need." 21.44 GMT: Here is the weirdest transfer link of the day... A FOX Deportes reporter claims that Club Leon of Liga MX could be on the verge of signing retired U.S. Soccer legend Landon Donovan. The 36-year-old Donovan has not played since 2016 and currently works as a broadcaster with FOX. To make things even more confusing Club Leon has responded to the rumours with a series of tweets. This one seems like more smoke than fire but you just never know in the world of football. Is Club Leon just having a laugh with us all or could LD be on the verge of the unlikeliest of comebacks? We'd say the former but who really knows anymore. 21.27 GMT: After having a loan move for Kenedy fall through late in the summer, Newcastle are reportedly back in for the Chelsea youngster, according to the Telegraph. Kenedy has not appeared in the Premier League this season for Chelsea and a loan move would seem to make sense for all involved. Don't be surprised if this one gets done sooner rather than later. 21.12 GMT: Premier League big boys such as Manchester United and Tottenham have hit a snag in the pursuit of Fulham wonderboy Ryan Sessegnon. The Telegraph report that the youngster will stay with Fulham through the end of the month as the Cottagers take another stab at Championship promotion. 20.50 GMT: Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town look to be on the verge of making a key signing. The Terriers have an agreement in place with Norwich attacking midfielder Alex Pritchard for a fee that could rise to £14m. The 24-year-old Pritchard is set to have a medical tomorrow at Huddersfield and would provide a Terriers attack that has the fourth-worst goal total (18 goals) in the top flight. 20.30 GMT: With injuries mounting, there is speculation Manchester United could recall highly-touted midfielder Andreas Pereira back early from his loan spell at Valencia. The 22-year old starlet has made no secret about his desire to stay at Valencia through the end of the season. "I want to stay in Valencia and win the Copa with this side and tonight I really enjoyed playing with Luciano (Vietto), we understand each other very well", said Pereira. We will see if Jose Mourinho honours the Brazil Under-23 internationals request. 20.05 GMT: Russia captain Fyodor Smolov wants a move to West Ham, according to Sky Sports. Smolov has been with Krasnodar since 2015 and has scored 11 times for Russia in 28 international appearances. 19.45 GMT: One player who could be returning from China is Brazilian midfielder Ramires. The former Chelsea man has spent the last two seasons in China with Jiangsu Suning but is lobbying for a European return with Inter Milan. Ramires has not appeared for Brazil since leaving for China and could view a return to Europe as a chance to play himself into Tite's Brazil squad ahead of the World Cup. "I'd be happy to go to Inter but I'm still a Jiangsu player and I have to focus on preparing with them, I hope I'll be ready to play straight away. Ramires told Sky Sports Italy. "I hope we can reach an agreement and, who knows, go to Inter. I haven't talked to Spalletti, I never met him when Inter came to China." 19.25 GMT: Striker Nikola Kalinic has had a rough start to life at AC Milan and now there are reports that Milan could be looking to cut their losses with the Croatian striker. Calciomercato.com reports that Kalinic has already turned down a move to China and Guangzhou Evergrande, now managed by one Fabio Cannavaro. Kalinic's future remains cloudy but it looks like the ex-Fiorentina man is set on trying to make things work at Milan...for now at least. 19.09 GMT: Another DONE DEAL with MLS connections. Costa Rica international Christian Bolanos has reportedly signed a deal to return to Costa Rica with Saprissa. Bolanos played the last season and a half with the Vancouver Whitecaps of MLS and returns to youth club Saprissa for his third tour of duty. 18.55 GMT: Back to the other side of the Atlantic...we have a DONE DEAL in MLS. The LA Galaxy have announced the signing of U.S.international goalkeeper David Bingham. The 28-year-old Bingham has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in MLS with the San Jose Earthquakes over the past few seasons and hopes to bring some consistency to a position that has troubled the Galaxy over the past few seasons. 18.37 GMT: Having just sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, Liverpool figure to reinvest some of that money in January. Spanish outlet Diario Gol report that one of the moves the Reds could make this January is for Real Madrid youngster Dani Ceballos. Ceballos, who was named Player of the Tournament at last summer's Under-21 Euros, just moved to the Bernabeu this summer but is reportedly already not happy with his playing time. The 21-year-old is considered one of top young players in Europe and his attack-minded style would seem a good fit under Jurgen Klopp. 18:12 GMT: Napoli are on record as needing some reinforcements this month as they push for the Serie A title, and Tuttomercatoweb believes they've found an answer in highly-regarded Ajax winger Amin Younes. Football-Italia has the rundown: the Partenopei have reportedly agreed a five-year contract with the 24-year-old though a transfer might need to wait until the summer when his contract expires in Amsterdam. 17:55 GMT: Are PSG in the mood for signing another defender? Il Tempo and Foot Mercato (via Football Italia) report that the Ligue 1 giants are scouting Roma's 18-year-old left-back Luca Pellegrini. Pellegrini's contract with the Giallorossi expires this summer and so far, there's no indication of him signing a new deal to remain in Rome. 17.40 GMT: Sheffield united have completed a second DONE DEAL on the day! The Blades, who acquired James Wilson earlier in the day on loan from Manchester United, have also signed 23-year-old midfielder Lee Evans permanently from Wolves. Evans made his Wales international debut in November and spent the first half of the season on loan at Wigan. Here is Evans on his new move: 17:28 GMT: Here's some news in Major League Soccer... Montreal manager Remi Garde confirms that on loan midfielder Blerim Dzemaili has left the club early. Dzemaili, 31, was on loan from Bologna and played 22 games for the Impact in 2017. The next few months are crucially important for the Swiss international, who will be looking to impress Switzerland manager Vladimir Petkovic in a World Cup year. 17:15 GMT: Loan over for Ivan Toney as he returns to Newcastle from a brief spell at Wigan. MLS target Sami Khedira has said he will not be moving to America as he feels he still has a lot left to accomplish for Juventus. Khedira, 30, has a contract through 2019 in Turin and seems determined to continue in Europe. He also advised fellow Germany international, Emre Can, to complete his switch from Liverpool. Are West Ham United about to part ways with Javier Hernandez... and will the Mexico striker head to Major League Soccer? Expansion club Los Angeles FC are preparing for their first season on the pitch and will be in the market for more star power. "Chicharito" would certainly tick the boxes given that they've steadily filling out their squad and with his Mexico teammate Carlos Vela already in LA, could this work out? Hernandez, 29, has only scored four goals this season in a string of struggling starts and sub appearances. The Hammers paid £16m for him last summer and would be happy to recoup some of that fee if LAFC are interested, according to the Standard. 15:56 GMT: Here's another DONE DEAL, this time involving Manchester United... That's right: James Wilson is heading to Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season. Wilson, 22, made his United debut in 2014 but has spent the two seasons since at Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County on loan. It goes as far to say that negotiations are well underway and a loan deal is close. 08.24 GMT: Manchester United are already planning for the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer and, according to Yahoo! Sport, there is even a chance the veteran striker could depart before the end of the campaign with Major League Soccer or the Chinese Super League potential destinations. 07.59 GMT: The Mirror reckons that if Arsenal or Liverpool want to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco this month it is going to cost them £90m. Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim said on Tuesday that the club "have to prepare yourself for anything and everything." 07.32 GMT: Real Madrid have been linked with some big Premier League stars in the January transfer window including Harry Kane and Eden Hazard but coach Zinedine Zidane has insisted he is happy with his current squad and new signings are not on the agenda. Everton favourites to land WalcottEverton are favourites to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal with the Mail claiming the Toffees will pay £20m for the England forward. Sam Allardyce is hopeful of beating off interest from Walcott's former club Southampton due to their ability to come close to matching his £110,000-per-week wages. If Walcott prefers not to move north, though, Saints could become the front-runners, with Arsene Wenger likely to give the green light to a sale providing a replacement is lined up. A Sanchez sale could complicate Walcott's future though, with Wenger unlikely to sanction both moves without reinforcements already locked up. Man United offered Lucas opportunityManchester United have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Lucas Moura, claims the Mail. The Brazilian was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford back in 2012 before heading to the French capital from Sao Paulo. However, having failed to fulfill his potential over five years and merely being used as a squad player under Unai Emery, Lucas is willing to link up with Jose Mourinho. With just five Ligue 1 appearances this term, the last of which came way back at the beginning of November, Lucas will cost just £25m as PSG look to balance the books to comply with Financial Fair Play. Tap-ins- Napoli are in pole position to sign Barcelona's out-of-favour forward Gerard Deulofeu, reports Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, though the Blaugrana will not accept any loan deals for the former Everton star. The asking price is set at €18-20m (£15.9-17.6m) with the Partenopei eyeing the 23-year-old as an alternative to Bologna star Simone Verdi. - Barcelona are facing a dilemma over whether to bring in Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina now or in the summer, as Sport reports that Palmeiras have put a €6m (£5.3m) premium on releasing their star this month. The report details how if Ernesto Valverde wants defensive cover now, as Javier Mascherano prepares to leave and Samuel Umtiti recovers from injury, Barca must pay a number of the add-ons including a €1.8m fee to the 23-year-old's former club Santa Fe after a clause in his last transfer. - Also from Gianluca Di Marzio, Crystal Palace are looking to solve their striker problem by signing Khouma Babacar from Fiorentina. The Senegalese is not a regular under Stefano Pioli and despite Roy Hodgson replacing Frank de Boer as manager this season, the Eagles could reignite their interest in the 24-year-old from last summer. - Steve Bruce wants Leicester duo Leonardo Ulloa and Daniel Amartey this month to boost Aston Villa's hopes of promotion, claims the Telegraph. Villa have the budget for only two loan deals until the end of the season, while Millwall have asked to take Tommy Elphick on loan.
