Transfer Rater: Renato Sanches to Paris Saint-Germain, Mariano Diaz to Real Madrid

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Kevin Strootman to Marseille

Roma midfielder Strootman could complete a £22m switch to the Stade Velodrome in the next 24 hours. L'Equipe claim the Netherlands international is due in the south of France for a medical and barring any issues around the assessment will sign a five-year contract. Strootman has made 187 appearances for the Giallorossi since signing from PSV Eindhoven in 2013 but it has been reported that the 28-year-old doesn't want to leave Roma.

Moussa Dembele to Marseille

Marseille could be one of the busiest clubs on deadline day with striker Dembele a long-term target and reportedly interested in a move to the south of France. The Daily Record report OM scouts were at Parkhead on Sunday to watch the 22-year-old as Celtic beat Hamilton Academicals 1-0, while RMC believe the France under-21 International is keen to hold talks with the club. Celtic's failure to qualify for the Champions League group stage has left them exposed in the market, although the Scottish champions will demand in excess of £20m for Dembele.

Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona

Barca's chances of landing Rabiot appear to be dimming after PSG threatened to report them to FIFA for allegedly tapping up the midfielder. Rabiot, 22, is out of contract next summer and has turned down four offers of a new deal. Sport claim that Barca general manager Pep Segura and technical director Eric Abidal visited Paris in July to discuss their interest in Rabiot with his mother and agent Veronique, but PSG believe the France international's refusal to agree terms on a new contract is down to that meeting, with the two clubs now at "total war."

Mariano Diaz to Real Madrid

Madrid are poised to hijack Sevilla's £27m purchase of Dominican forward Mariano by exercising their buy-back clause. Mariano moved to France last summer from the Bernabeu and scored 21 goals in 45 games for Les Gones. Sevilla have reportedly agreed a fee to bring the 25-year-old back to Spain but Marca state Madrid have 48 hours to decide if they want to re-sign him for £22.6m with the board aware Mariano would provide strong competition to Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio in the final third.

Renato Sanches to Paris Saint-Germain

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel is keen to add a midfielder before the close of the deadline on Aug. 31 and Bayern have offered Sanches to the French champions. The Portugal international has failed to settle in Munich and endured an unremarkable loan at Swansea last season but, at 21, remains a talented footballer who just needs the right setting and coach to prosper. Fenerbahce are also reportedly interested in the Euro 2016 Golden Boy and Paris United claim PSG are yet to respond to Bayern's offer, although it's unclear if it's for a loan or a permanent switch.
