Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Luka Modric to Inter Milan

After a failed attempt to sign the Real Madrid star in the summer, Inter could be back in the market for Modric in January, according to Italian outlet SportMediaset. The Croatian reportedly intends to make the move to Italy before he enters the final year of his contract next summer and is hoping that a new UEFA ruling, which allows January transfers to play for two clubs in one Champions League campaign, will galvanise Inter to increase their offer for him.

Leandro Paredes to Milan

Milan may look to bolster their midfield options with the addition of former Roma star Paredes, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport. The Argentina international only left Serie A in January 2017 and has impressed throughout his inaugural season at Zenit St Petersburg, making him an ideal candidate for Gennaro Gattuso's side. The 24-year-old was signed by the Russian giants for €23 million but could be allowed to leave for no more than €30m in January or next summer.

Douglas Costa to Manchester United

A bidding war may be about to spark in to life for the battle for Costa's signature. The Brazil international has struggled to nail down a key role at Juventus and the club would be willing to listen to offers. According to SportMediaset, the two most likely bidders would be Manchester United and Manchester City, with the former holding a slight advantage in possibly being able to bring the winger to Old Trafford as part of a deal which would see Pogba move back to Turin.

Paul Pogba to Juventus

Also in Tuttosport, Juventus will attempt to re-sign Pogba and bring him back to Turin next summer. Fabio Paratici, the Italian champions' sporting director, is hoping to build upon luring Cristiano Ronaldo to the club this summer by convincing the France international that his future lies in Italy rather than at an increasingly turbulent Manchester United under Jose Mourinho's reign.

Adrien Rabiot to Chelsea

Chelsea are the latest club to show an interest in PSG's highly-sought after talent Rabiot, according to reports in L'Equipe. The 23-year-old has so far been linked with moves to Juventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City as he seems quite happy to allow his contract to run down to within six months of expiring before he makes his decision in January. This would allow the London club to either offer Rabiot a pre-contract to sign next summer or offer a cut-down price for the midfielder in the winter transfer window.
