Transfer Talk: Real Madrid want Eden Hazard and will offer Isco, Mateo Kovacic in deal

The transfer window for Europe's biggest clubs might be closed, but they are still working tirelessly behind the scenes to line up the arrival of their next star. Transfer Talk has been scouring the world's media to see who could be heading to your club when Jan. 1 arrives.

TOP STORY: Real Madrid to offer Isco, Kovacic for Hazard

It's nothing new to hear that Real Madrid want Eden Hazard. The latest rumour about how far they are willing to go to get their man comes from Onda Cero, via Metro, who report that the Spanish giants are willing to offer Isco and Mateo Kovacic to Chelsea in their bid to sign their man.

Hazard has said he will assess his options before committing to a new deal, but has also conceded that it is his dream to play for Real Madrid.

Kovacic is already on loan at Stamford Bridge, and Isco is on the outs at Madrid. Metro reported earlier this month that Chelsea were willing to splash £70 million for Isco.

21.53 GMT: With Marcelo reportedly ready to leave Real Madrid to reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, AS reports that Los Blancos will replace the Brazilian left-back by activating the €50m buyout clause of Real Betis' 22-year-old Junior.

21.18 GMT: Defender Laurent Ciman is returning to Major League Soccer after Toronto FC picked the former LAFC player with the No. 1 allocation spot on Thursday. Read the full story.

20.02 GMT: Tottenham hope to raise £75m in January by selling Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen, according to the Mail, with the club looking to reinvest that cash in a capable understudy to Harry Kane.

18.46 GMT: Unhappy with opportunities under Jose Mourinho, Andreas Pereira will assess his minutes under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and decide his future at Manchester United, according to Brazilian outlet UOL. Should he opt to leave Old Trafford, the report states that Arsenal, Everton and West Ham are all interested in the Belgian-born Brazil international.

17.30 GMT: Barcelona may have unveiled one signing today in the form of Jeison Murillo, but the club had to field questions about links with Paris Saint-Germain Adrien Rabiot. Eric Abidal gave little away.

"Today is not the time to answer questions about Adrien Rabiot," Abidal said at the news conference to unveil Murillo. "We are happy to have Jeison. We are attentive towards players who fit our needs."

16.15 GMT: DONE DEAL! Borussia Dortmund have loaned midfielder Sebastian Rode to former club Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season.

The former Germany U21 international, 28, has not featured for Lucien Favre's side this season, and has only started five league games for the current leaders since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2016.

15.15 GMT: Arsenal coach Unai Emery has admitted that it might be difficult for Aaron Ramsey to keep his focus during January's transfer window but called on the midfielder to only concentrate on his performances for the Gunners even as his long-term future may be decided.

Ramsey is out of contract in the summer and is free to commit to a pre-contract agreement in January, with Paris Saint-Germain the latest foreign club to be linked with a move for the Welshman after reported interest from Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Emery acknowledged that the transfer talk could become a distraction for Ramsey, who is Arsenal's longest-serving player, but urged him to stay focused on Saturday's trip to Liverpool and the games thereafter.

"The most important for every player is for their focus to be here," Emery told a news conference on Thursday.

"I think it's not easy for him, for Aaron. But I spoke with him, and we need his performance for us. He played yesterday [against Brighton] with a good spirit, like I want, and he helped us -- not to win, but he worked well and I'm happy. And I need this focus also from him to help us against Liverpool on Saturday and then against Fulham. And then his future is only for him, for his agent. But above all I want [him to] have his focus on helping us."

14.20 GMT: Staying with Tottenham, some quite big news... Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Spurs will activate a one-year extension clause in Toby Alderweireld's contract, as they recently did with Jan Vertonghen.

That move prevents Alderweireld from leaving for free in 2019 and keeps him at the club until 2020, but it also activates a release clause which makes the centre-back available for £25 million in the summer.

Asked whether Spurs intend to activate the clause, Pochettino told a news conference: "Yes, for sure, it's obvious. The same situation as Jan [Vertonghen]."

13.50 GMT: Harry Kane has told ESPN FC that Tottenham's success so far this season has justified their lack of summer signings, and that the squad is strong enough to remain competitive at the top if January is also quiet.

"Sometimes if you can't find the right player there's no need to buy a player," Kane said following the Boxing Day victory over Bournemouth. "That's obviously the gaffer's philosophy and that was his thinking [in the summer]. He believed in the squad he had and we're doing alright so far.

"We'll see what happens in the January transfer window. If the gaffer wants to buy someone then I'm sure he will. If he doesn't we'll crack on and keep doing what we're doing.

"We're fit, we're ready to go. This period where there's lots of games, we seem to do well because we recover well and we do a lot outside the pitch as well.

"[Signings are] up to the manager. If a new face comes in then we'll welcome him and make sure he trains hard, and he'll obviously try to get into the team. If we don't then we've got a big enough squad that we can rotate -- players have been coming in and doing well. We'll be ready either way.

"I feel we've got a very strong attack, a very strong team. Without the midfield and defence playing the way they do, we don't score the goals. Everyone's been playing very well and everyone's got competition for places, which is great and what you need in a squad."

12.45 GMT: Lionel Messi has given a big interview in today's edition of Marca, and while he doesn't speak much about his own future, he has once again talked up how much he would love to have his pal Neymar back with him in Barcelona.

"As both a player and a friend, I would love for Neymar to return," Messi said. "We did great things together and we also spent a lot of time together. However, to me, it seems to be complicated. PSG will not allow him be taken away from them."

12.00 GMT: Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri will be considered during Manchester United's hunt for a new manager, sources have told ESPN FC.

Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino is their top choice to replace Jose Mourinho, who was sacked last week, but United are committed to "a thorough and extensive" search before making a permanent appointment ahead of next season.

Caretaker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won his first two games after taking the job following Mourinho's dismissal. The Norwegian, who is still under contract at Molde, has hinted he would also like to be considered for the role full-time but sources have told ESPN FC that United will push on with their search regardless of results on the pitch.

Allegri has a contract at Juventus until 2020 but has let it be known he would be keen on a move to the Premier League.

10.58 GMT: Barcelona present central defender Jeison Murillo as a new signing...

10.05 GMT: Juventus are ready to allow Moise Kean and Leonardo Spinazzola to go out on loan in January, according to Calciomercato.

09.20 GMT: Both Manchester City and Manchester United have been linked with moves for Douglas Costa in recent days, but it looks like they will be disappointed in their pursuit of the Juventus attacker.

According to Calciomercato, even the fee of €60m that has been quoted in UK media reports would not be enough for Juve to sell the Brazilian.

PAPER TALK: PSG will move for Ramsey

Paris Saint-Germain are set to offer Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey an 18-month contract when the January transfer window opens, reports L'Equipe and relayed by France-based journalist Matt Spiro.

They say PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has been talking to Ramsey and to Arsenal, with a fee thought to be between €10 million and €20 million.

Spurs keen on young Norwich defender Aarons

Tottenham might look to bolster their defence with a £15m bid for Norwich right-back Max Aarons, according to the Sun.

The 18-year-old made his senior debut only in August but has quickly made an impact for the Championship promotion hopefuls. And other teams are reportedly interested, including Germany's RB Leipzig.

The paper reckons Norwich are under no financial pressure to sell, and that Spurs' only hope for a deal in the January window would be buy and then loan Aarons straight back to Norwich for their promotion push.

West Ham come up empty on Medel

West Ham have failed in their £6.5m bid for former Cardiff City and current Besiktas hard man Gary Medel, according to Talksport.

The Turkish club have rejected the Hammers' opening offer, but the Sun says manager Manuel Pellegrini remains focused on signing a player who can add more steel to his midfield.

Meanwhile, the Sun adds that the Hammers look set to sign Samir Nasri after the former France international trained at the club during his 18-month doping ban.

Tap-ins

- Abdoulaye Doucoure could join PSG from Watford, if the Mail are to be believed. The French champions will reportedly need to pay £45m to pry the midfielder away from the Hornets.

- Marca says Atletico Madrid fear they will lose World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez in January. The left-back reportedly has a release clause of €80m in his contract -- a fee Bayern Munich are more than willing to pay for the 22-year-old.
