TOP STORY: Real begin pursuit of Salah

Real Madrid's desire to bring Eden Hazard to the Bernabeu is well documented, but the Mail reports that there's another Premier League attacker in their sights -- Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool star Salah was the joint Golden Boot winner with teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the Mail says Zinedine Zidane sees him as the perfect partner for Hazard and Karim Benzema.

Gareth Bale looks certain to be heading out in the summer, along with a number of other high-profile names, and the Mail says "Zidane believes Salah's pace and movement would inject some real dynamism into his side."

Any move for the Egypt international would meet stiff resistance from Liverpool, but perhaps an offer worthy of a new-era galactico could persuade the Premier League runners-up to let Salah go.

He has been chosen by Juninho Pernambucano, 44, who is coming back as sporting director at the club where he became a legend as a player between 2001 and 2009. "Important players go and leave holes to fill -- and I'm no doubt the likes of Rodrigo, Saul [Niguez], [Jose Maria] Gimenez, Koke, [Jan] Oblak will be those who fill them," Simeone said at a news conference.

14.31 BST: Mauro Icardi has hinted that he will stay at Inter Milan following rumours he was on the verge of joining Juventus.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves wants to hear from Premier League clubs before committing to stay at the Parc des Princes.

The Ligue 1 champions, however, are said to be frustrated with the ex-Barcelona man and willing to offer only a one-year extension.

Alves previously attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United before signing for PSG in 2017, but it seems a long shot that any of the Premier League's big six would now come calling.
