Will Juve stump up the cash for De Ligt?
The future of Matthijs de Ligt has been a source of incessant speculation in recent months and now the Times are reporting that Ajax are asking for a bank-busting fee of £75 million from whichever club finally takes him off their hands. That claim follows reports that Juventus were the latest club the young Dutch superstar had pledged his future to.
Heads have been spinning at Ajax from the moment it became clear that the teenage prodigy saw no future in remaining in Amsterdam, despite the club's stunning season in the Champions League, which saw them come within an inch of making it to the final.
The paper understands from a source at Ajax that Juve have yet to make a formal offer for the player. The paper also reports that the involvement of Mino Raiola in any prospective deal is causing nervousness among a number of clubs, including the likes of Manchester City, who had been linked with De Ligt as a replacement for Vincent Kompany.

22.07 BST: A bit more Man United for you. The Sun believes they've completed the signing of Mateo Meija, a 16-year-old goalscoring winger from Spain. OK then.
Meija has been impressive for Real Zaragoza and United are ready to pounce for £600,000.
21.31 BST: Might Man United be back on the Jadon Sancho trail? Metro believes that if Paul Pogba is allowed to leave this summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer & Co. will turn back to the Borussia Dortmund and England star to help kickstart the next iteration of United.
Sancho, 19, was a target of earlier interest by United though they balked at Dortmund's valuation. Now, however, the situation is different and they'd be willing to spend up to £100m for the youngster.
20.46 BST: A small tidbit involving Barcelona as Liverpool and Chelsea are hoping to sign... Alejandro Balde from the Catalan giants.
Sport in Spain reckons that Barca could keep Balde but the 16-year-old, who's been impressive since appearing in their U17 side this season, is preparing to move on. He'd definitely be "one to watch" and not a player expected to make an immediate impact in the Premier League.
20.08 BST: Is this the summer that finally sees Kieran Tierney end up in the Premier League?
Celtic's prized full-back has been the apple of English eyes for some time, linked with Arsenal and Man United in the past but this summer's chase is even hotter. The Herald in Scotland reports that the Gunners are ready to meet Celtic's £25m valuation for Tierney, 22, having tried with a £15m bid in the not-too-distant past. Everton, Leicester City and Napoli are also hoping to entice the three-time Young Player of the Year winner away from Parkhead.
19.24 BST: The fun thing about being promoted to the Premier League (well, besides the money, TV exposure and better football) is the scramble to reinforce before that opening weekend. Aston Villa are in the thick of it and while they're hoping to bring back loan duo Tyrone Mings and Axel Tuanzebe from Bournemouth and Man United respectively, they're also snooping a list of top targets in central defense.
Top of that list? Burnley defender Ben Gibson, surprisingly, as the club is ready to move on from the 26-year-old just one year after signing him from Middlesbrough.
The Birmingham Mail reports that Gibson is also garnering interest from fellow promoted side Norwich City as well as Besiktas and Sheffield Wednesday. Watch this space!
18.51 BST: Sometimes, the transfer market is simply a case of trying something cheeky and seeing if it comes off. Milan's new manager, Marco Giampaolo, has reportedly made an inquiry for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira as a guy to reinvigorate the Rossoneri engine room.
Giampaolo and Torreira worked together at their former club, Sampdoria, but you'd have a hard time believing that the Gunners would let the young Uruguay international go after just one full season (a successful one at that) in the Premier League. Sportmediaset in Italy report that Milan's interest comes after reports that Torreira, 23, is struggling to settle in London and might welcome a swift return to the Serie A, the league where he really boosted his profile and felt comfortable.
Talking numbers, the same reports suggest a two-year loan (and hefty loan fee) before a permanent transfer in the region of €30-33m.
18.00 BST: Crazy, we know, but Tottenham look to be on the cusp of making a signing!
According to the Daily Star, Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is weighing up his options between Juventus and Spurs but is leaning towards the Premier League club. He's reportedly impressed with the work of Mauricio Pochettino and feels like he'll have more of an opportunity to make an immediate impact in their midfield rather than competing with Miralem Pjanic, Emre Can and Blaise Matuidi for minutes in Italy.
17.11 BST: It seems like a lot of top clubs are circling around Lille's player of the season and breakout Ligue 1 star, Nicolas Pepe, but a new challenger in Italy has entered the ring. After weeks of links to Liverpool, Tottenham and others in England, L'Equipe reckons that Inter Milan are now front of the queue.
The French paper believes that Inter are reading a €90m bid for the attacker, which would definitely put them above the competition at present. They also report that Atletico Madrid are interested but the Inter link makes sense given their new manager Antonio Conte's search for goalscoring upgrades and his desire to move the club on from the tumultuous Mauro Icardi era.
16.00 BST: BIG claim for the Daily Mirror, who suggest Harry Maguire is set to seal a whopping £80 million move to Manchester City this week.
Leicester City centre-back Maguire had been a target for both Manchester clubs but the Mirror believe City have beat United to the deal, which would be a world record for a defender. It is claimed Maguire, who starred for England at the World Cup last summer, could earn around £280,000-a-week to leave Leicester and move to the Premier League champions.
15.26 BST: Napoli full-back Mario Rui could be heading back to Benfica, agent has told Mario Giuffredi Radio TSF. Rui played for Benfica in 2009-10 and is not expected to be part of Carlo Ancelotti's plans for the new season.
"Mario Rui would be very happy to return to Portugal and he'd be enthusiastic about moving to Benfica," Mario Giuffredi said.
"In fact, it'd be a dream to come back to Benfica."
14.40 BST: Fenerbahce are in talks with Roma with a view to sign former Manchester City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, sources have told ESPN FC. The Istanbul-based club have tabled a two-year deal, plus the option of a third, worth €2.8 million per year.
Kolarov is open to a move to Turkey this summer, although Napoli and Inter Milan have also expressed an interest in signing him. The Serbia international, however, is not keen on playing for another Serie A club aside from Roma, sources have told ESPN FC.
14.19 BST: Big, big money. Joao Felix, known in some quarters as the "New Ronaldo", is heading to Atletico Madrid after they reportedly won the race for his signature. And to make sure he's their's for the foreseeable future, Atleti want to put a mammoth price tag on his shoulders. AS reckon Felix's release clause could be as high as €350 million.
14.06 BST: Vinicius Junior, this is cheeky.
The Real Madrid man has been talking up the possibility of the club signing Kylian Mbappe. Vinicius, don't be greedy -- Eden Hazard has already arrived this summer!
Anyway, here's what he has had to say...
"Of course Real Madrid fans are dreaming of Mbappe, but so are other club's fans," Vinicius told French football Telefoot.
"I think he will come here eventually, and I think we would win a lot of titles together.
"I don't know him well -- other than exchanging messages on Instagram -- but he is someone I look up to a lot.
"If he came to Madrid, it would be great."
13.53 BST: Catalan radio station RAC1 claim Dani Alves is angling for a return to Barcelona. The Brazilian right-back has confirmed that he's leaving Paris Saint-Germain but he has not yet revealed what his next move will be.
At 36, he is still hopeful of continuing at the top level and journalist Gerard Romero says his preferred move would be back to Barca, the club that he left three years ago for Juventus.
Alves left Juve after just one year, snubbing Manchester City at the last minute in favour of linking up with compatriot Neymar at PSG. His departure from the French club may now be seen as a prelude to Neymar leaving, too, with sources confirming to ESPN FC that PSG are open to selling him that Barcelona are looking into bringing him back.
13.29 BST: Liverpool are said to be keen on Real Betis' wing-back Junior Firpo but they could have competition, if Marca are to be believed. Rivals Manchester United have also joined the chase for the sought after star, and Marca say Betis are ready to listen to offers around the €50m mark.
12.56 BST: Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso has insisted that attacker Federico Chiesa will remain at the club this summer despite links with Juventus.
"I haven't spoken to his entourage, but I saw the Italy U21 game last night and he scored a great goal. Unless there's something I don't know, then Chiesa will stay for at least another year," he told Sky Sport Italia.
12.07 BST: Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis says he would love to see Neymar return to Barcelona this summer because it's where he believes his Brazil teammate is happy.
Sources have told ESPN FC that Barca are looking into a deal to bring Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain. The forward spent four seasons at the club before leaving in 2017, but Luis believes we haven't seen the same Neymar in France over the last two seasons.
"I have no idea if Neymar's going to Barcelona because I haven't spoken with him," the left-back told Cadena Cope. "It would be a big shock but I would like to see him back at Barca. He's happy there, he enjoys himself much more and he needs to get his smile back and that joy that he had. I know he would be happier back in Barcelona."
Luis, 33, could even end up as Neymar's teammate next season. He is out of contract with Atletico at the end of June and sources confirmed to ESPN FC earlier this year that he's one of the options Barca are weighing up as they look to bring in competition for Jordi Alba.
However, he says he's told Brazil boss Tite his focus is exclusively on the Copa America for now.
"I promised the coach I wasn't going to speak with anyone until after the tournament," he added. "I think it's only fair that my focus is here. When the Copa's over, I will sit down with Atletico and see what the possibilities are and from there we will see."
12.02 BST: Haha! And just like that, Roy Keane is gone ...
A statement from Nottingham Forest read: "Nottingham Forest can confirm that assistant manager Roy Keane has left the club.
"Roy would like to express his gratitude to the club's owner, board of directors, the staff, the players and in particular manager Martin O'Neill for the opportunity to return to The City Ground."
Keane said: "Working with Martin over the last few years has been a magnificent experience, one of my greatest in football both as a player and a coach and one I want to personally thank him for."

11.36 BST: La Gazzetta dello Sport are busy. They reckon AC Milan are open to selling Franck Kessie for around €35-40 million, with the midfielder supposedly interested in a move to the Premier League.
10.58 BST: The Mauro Icardi drama continues. It's like a soap opera at times, isn't it? In today's instalment, the Inter Milan striker's agent Wanda Nara has denied the "enormous lie" that suggested Antonio Conte had told her Icardi had no future at Inter.
"Seeing as certain people continue to leak fake news, I want to make it clear that I have not called anyone," Wanda wrote on Twitter.
"Unfortunately, there are many who write about this enormous lie..."
10.43 BST: Roque Mesa played 31 La Liga matches for Sevilla last season after moving back to Spain from Swansea but he admits his future is in doubt.
"The reality is that I am one of the players that could leave," he said.
"If an offer comes in, and Sevilla are satisfied with it, then we will see."

10.02 BST: La Gazzetta dello Sport believe that highly rated Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj could be about to join Atletico Madrid for €25m. The 25-year-old has also been on Manchester United and Juventus' radar.
09.19 BST: Edinson Cavani has been speaking about his Paris Saint-Germain future. Here's what he said at a press conference ahead of Uruguay's clash with Chile at the Copa America:
"In my case, I always say that I just want to play football. Right now, I'm with Uruguay playing in the Copa America and am not thinking beyond that," Cavani said. "Today I'm concentrating on my national team, then I'll think about my club. The same thing happens when I'm with the club. When I'm there, I defend my club as I do when I'm with Uruguay defending the team.
"Cavani is linked to every club in Europe but in the end dwelling on it does no good. I have experience in all that, and it's not anything that affects me. My teammates with the most experience go about it the same way."

PSG open to Ney offers, if a big name is included
Neymar's desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain is no secret, and now it looks as though the French club could be willing to play ball with Barcelona -- but only if the financial terms are "acceptable."
At least that's what the Times is reporting, with the paper claiming that Neymar's departure could soon be sealed and might even end with Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele moving in the opposite direction.
Barca are apparently prepared to pay PSG as much as £90m for a player they sold for £200m in 2017 and could throw in Coutinho or Dembele -- players they broke the bank to sign -- as part of the deal.
No tears would be shed at Coutinho's departure, with the player struggling to make an impact at the Nou Camp since arriving from Liverpool in January 2018.
Manchester United and Chelsea have previously been linked with a move for Neymar as well, but may struggle to come up with a name big enough to entice the French champs.
The boy Dane good: Eriksen eyes Old Trafford move
His dream of a move to Real Madrid may have turned sour, but Christian Eriksen hasn't given up hope of earning a switch to either Manchester United or Juventus.
That's according to the Mirror, which reports that the Denmark international was so convinced he was leaving North London that he packed up his house in the capital in preparation for his exit.
Madrid's signing of Eden Hazard and their pursuit of Paul Pogba look to have kiboshed any hopes Eriksen had of heading to the Spanish capital, but, ever the optimist, he could be open to offers from either United or Juve as both look to build sides capable of winning the Champions League.
Eriksen has apparently already told his Spurs teammates that he won't be at the club next season.

- Championship side Leeds United are set to demand £30m for Kalvin Phillips, which is double what newly promoted Aston Villa are reportedly willing to pay for the midfielder. That's according to the Sun, with the paper reporting that the Elland Road club are holding out for a bumper payday for a player who has emerged as the top target for the Championship playoff winners.
- Staying with Aston Villa, it looks like Alan Hutton could be on his way out of the second city -- and heading to Nottingham Forest. Hutton is currently a free agent, and the Sun reports that the Scot is on the verge of joining the Martin O'Neill revolution at the City Ground.
- To the women's game now, where Australia captain Sam Kerr has been offered a $1 million, two-year deal to join Chelsea -- that's according to the Daily Telegraph.
