Borussia Dortmund's Zorc angry as Sven Bender faces six weeks out

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has hit out at Paderborn after Sven Bender was ruled out for six weeks by an injury he suffered in a friendly against them.

Bender, who sustained the injury in a late challenge by Sven Michel, was taken to hospital for tests with coach Thomas Tuchel saying his injury "doesn't look good."

The 27-year-old had only returned to the BVB squad late last year after recovering from an injury picked up at the Olympics.

It is now feared he suffered a ligament tear following the challenge, although Dortmund have yet to confirm the results of an examination on Wednesday.

"The opposing striker fouled him at the halfway line, and you need to ask yourself what's wrong with this guy?" Zorc told Bild.

Referring to an injury suffered by Marco Reus at the same club in 2014, he added: "I'll never again set a foot inside this stadium by my own choice."

Ahead of the restart of the Bundesliga season at the weekend, Tuchel had identified Bender as one of his team's leaders, telling ESPN FC's Raphael Honigstein that he was a "big personality."
