Borussia Dortmund's DFB Pokal quarterfinal rescheduled for March 14

Borussia Dortmund's DFB Pokal quarterfinal game against Sportfreunde Lotte has been rescheduled for March 14, the German Football Association has announced.

The game was scheduled to be played on Tuesday, but was called off less than an hour before kickoff because snow led to poor field conditions at Frimo Stadion in Lotte.

Concerns about the field have also led to the decision to move the game to nearby Osnabrueck. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke pushed for a change of venue, saying on Tuesday, "If you've seen the grass over months, you must say that [if] the grass is kaput that it won't be better in the next weeks, either."

The scheduling still needs to be approved by UEFA because the date has been reserved for European club competitions.

Dortmund will host Benfica on March 8 in the second leg of the Champions League's round of 16 and visit Hertha Berlin on March 11 in a Bundesliga fixture, then will host FC Ingolstadt in another league game on March 17.

The teams had announced their lineups and were preparing to play on Tuesday when referee Felix Brych called the game off, citing safety issues.

Dortmund's team bus had earlier found itself stuck in a farmer's field on its way to the stadium.
