Monchengladbach's Thorgan Hazard: Eden Hazard says I'm in 'hot form'

Eden Hazard has told his younger brother Thorgan he is in "hot form" at the moment following the Borussia Monchengladbach's midfielder's recent displays.

Thorgan, 23, scored in Monchengladbach's 2-1 Champions League defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday, adding to the three goals he has netted in the Bundesliga this term.

"He's happy for me. He tells me I'm in hot form, but also that I have to keep going like that," Thorgan told France Football of older brother Eden. "We hope we'll meet up with the national team so that we can play together.

"He doesn't give me any advice in particular. He has his own career to deal with. We're two different players at two different clubs. He doesn't bother me by saying, 'Do this, do that...'"

The pair were together at Chelsea for a period when Thorgan joined from Lens in 2012, shortly after Eden had moved to the club from Lille.

The moves led to comparisons between the two being drawn, particularly as Eden shone for Chelsea while Thorgan went out on loan to Zulte Waregem and Monchengladbach.

Now, however, the younger brother, who moved to Monchengladbach permanently in 2015, has made a name for himself.

"It's been a little while now that people don't ask me too many questions about that," Thorgan said. "It was above all when I was at the Lens youth academy and in Belgium. Now, people don't bother me with it."

Thorgan has just one international cap for Belgium, which was won back in 2013, but he was named in Roberto Martinez's first squad for September's World Cup qualifier with Cyprus.

He did not play in the Red Devils' 3-0 win, but may have the opportunity to add to his tally in the upcoming qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Gibraltar.

"To have put myself in the spotlight at the start of the season enabled me to go there," Thorgan said. "It's of course a pleasure to go, to be alongside the players, and [Belgium coach] Thierry Henry.

"Everyone is happy he is there. A lot of the players were fans of his when they were younger. We all want to work with Thierry Henry. We learn a lot of things from him."
