Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic to represent Bosnia-Herzegovina

FIFA has approved a change of nationality for Croatia-born defender Jozo Simunovic to represent Bosnia-Herzegovina in their bid to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

World football's governing body informed the Bosnian federation on Tuesday that its players' status panel had granted the request.

Simunovic, 22, has Bosnian family roots but represented neighbouring Croatia at youth level.

He could switch teams under FIFA rules because he never played a competitive game for the senior Croatia team.

The Celtic player can now be selected in Bosnia's squad for World Cup qualifying games away to Cyprus and Gibraltar next month.
