Brazil to face El Salvador in Washington D.C. in September

Brazil will face El Salvador in a friendly in September in addition to their game against the United States.

The El Salvador game will be played on Sept. 11 at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, outside Washington D.C., which has a large Salvadoran population.

Brazil won their only two previous meetings against El Salvador -- a 1994 friendly and a 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup match -- by 4-0 scorelines.

U.S. Soccer previously announced the USMNT will face the Selecao in their first game since the World Cup on Sept. 7 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The two games will also be the first since coach Tite extended his contract until the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Tite will announce his squad next Friday. The matches are part of Brazil's preparation for Copa America, which they will host in 2019.
