Striker Marco Borriello moves to Cagliari on free transfer

Cagliari have snapped up veteran striker Marco Borriello on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old, capped seven times by Italy, has been a free agent since leaving Atalanta at the end of last season.

"The striker has signed a contract that binds him to the Rossoblu for one season with the option of a second," Cagliari said on their website.

Cagliari become the 13th club of Borriello's career after spells with Treviso, Trieste, AC Milan, Empoli, Reggina, Sampdoria, Genoa, Roma, Juventus, West Ham, Carpi and Atalanta.
