Chelsea's John Terry misses Swansea, Remy a doubt for rest of the season

LONDON -- Guus Hiddink has confirmed that John Terry will miss Chelsea's Premier League clash with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, while Loic Remy may not play again this season.

Terry was ruled out of Chelsea's 4-0 rout of Aston Villa last weekend with an Achilles problem picked up in training and, while Chelsea insist he has not suffered a setback, the 35-year-old remains short of full fitness despite training this week.

The centre-back is also unlikely to play in the next two or three weeks, sources said, a timeline that would rule him out of next weekend's clash against Manchester City and set him up for a return against either Bournemouth on April 23 or Tottenham on May 2.

Remy limped from the field 23 minutes into Chelsea's victory at Villa Park due to a groin injury, with replacement Alexandre Pato scoring a penalty on his debut for the club.

"We have a few injured players so we will bring in some youngsters," Hiddink said. "Terry still isn't available. He has a little problem with his Achilles like last week. He was on the pitch, but not fully recovered.

"Costa is out [suspended], Hazard is still out, Matic will be out, Remy will be out. We will bring some youngsters as we did last week.

"[Matic] got a severe contusion on his lower leg. He might be available next weekend [against Manchester City] but I'm not sure about that."

Asked if Remy will play again this season, Hiddink added: "I don't know when he will be recovered, but it's a groin problem. It will last. I don't know exactly, but when you have that problem you can't train properly, you have to stay in treatment and then start again. It will be difficult, I think."

Gary Cahill also missed the trip to Villa Park with an injury picked up on international duty with England, and Hiddink says the 30-year-old's condition will be assessed by Chelsea's medical staff ahead of the Swansea match.

"We'll see this afternoon," Hiddink said. "We'll test whether he's fit to play. He had a bit of a tendon [problem] in the hip. He practised yesterday and we'll see what the reaction is."
