Fabio Capello has been appointed as the new head coach of Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, with the 70-year-old replacing the recently departed Choi Yong-Soo.
Jiangsu announced the appointment of Capello on their official social media account on Sunday evening.
Choi resigned to return to his native South Korea following the club's elimination from the Asian Champions League at the hands of fellow Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG at the end of May.
Capello, who won the Champions League with AC Milan in 1994, is the latest big-name foreign coach to make the move to China, following compatriot and China national team boss Marcello Lippi and Guangzhou Evergrande's Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Despite reaching the knockout phase of the Asian Champions League, Jiangsu have struggled so far this season.
After finishing as runners-up in both the league and the Chinese FA Cup last year, Jiangsu are currently in 15th place in the 16-team division having won just once so far this season.
Capello has previously managed AC Milan, Roma, Juventus, Real Madrid, England and Russia.
