Former Boca Juniors midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme has hit out at the decision to play the Copa Libertadores final second leg at Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium on Dec. 9, as it emerged that fans could pay more than €2,000 for some tickets.
The Superclasico between River Plate and Boca Juniors on Nov. 24 was postponed after River fans attacked the Boca team bus near the Monumental stadium, injuring fans and players.
A River fan was arrested after she was discovered to have taped flares to a child so they would not be detected on entry to the stadium.
"There are few things that are ours like asado [barbecue], mate [hot drink] and dulce de leche [caramel]," Riquelme told Radio Mitre.
"They have taken away our Superclasico, and it's not nice. At some point, the Superclasico will have to be played again in Argentina. What are we going to do?"
At the weekend, River rejected CONMEBOL's decision to move the second leg to the Bernabeu, with coach Marcelo Gallardo calling for the match to stay in Argentina.
"As much as I want Boca to win the title, I want the game to be played in our country," Riquelme said. "This River vs. Boca is going to be the most costly friendly game in history."
Boca, meanwhile, have put tickets for the game in Madrid on sale to their members at a cost of 3,600 Argentinian pesos (€86).
Madrid sold a reported 7,000 tickets to members, with each allowed to purchase two, in just a few hours on Sunday, with prices ranging from €80 to €250.
Some were quickly put on resale at a heavily inflated cost, with online prices ranging from €170 to almost €2,200 for VIP tickets.
AS reported that tickets sold to Madrid members were not exclusive, meaning anybody could use them.
Direct flights between Buenos Aires and Madrid are approximately €1,100 return but are likely to cost double that at short notice.
Boca arrive in Madrid on Wednesday and will train at Spain's Las Rozas headquarters, while River touch down on Thursday and will train at Madrid's Valdebebas base.
