England U19s dropped Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho over timekeeping - sources

Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho will be considered for the England under-19s friendly with Macedonia on Tuesday despite being left out of their last game because they missed training, sources have told ESPN FC.

Foden, the Manchester City midfielder, and Sancho, the Borussia Dortmund winger, were unused substitutes for Saturday's 3-0 victory over Latvia.

Sources told ESPN FC that U19s manager Paul Simpson left the two players out of the starting lineup after they were late for a training session in the build-up to the game.

Foden, 17, and Sancho, 18, are not expected to be given any further punishment and will both be considered for Tuesday's game in Skopje.

Foden has made eight appearances for City, and Sancho left the club in the summer in pursuit of first-team football at Dortmund.

Sources told ESPN FC in August that Sancho missed a number of training sessions at City before moving to the Bundesliga, where he has made seven appearances for Dortmund.

Both players were part of the England squad that won the Under-17 World Cup in October and the under-19s have already qualified for the European finals in Finland this summer as holders.
