Kieran Dowell signs revised three-year contract with Everton

Everton have signed academy graduate Kieran Dowell to a revised three-year contract less than two months after making his Premier League debut.

The 18-year-old, who joined the club's youth system aged seven, made his first senior appearance in a Europa League tie against Krasnodar in December 2014.

"It's a huge day for me and I'm delighted," he told Everton's website.

"You could say it's just the beginning. All the work you put in during your time with the academy is towards getting your first professional contract, but this really makes me feel like part of the team."

Also on Thursday, new Everton manager Ronald Koeman's preseason preparations are taking shape with a trip to Barnsley arranged for July 23.

The game is currently the Toffees' first friendly on their schedule as they get ready for the new campaign.

Everton also have further domestic games at MK Dons (July 26) and Manchester United for Wayne Rooney's testimonial (August 3), either side of participation in a four-team tournament in Germany where they will face hosts Dynamo Dresden and Real Betis at the end of July.
