Germany's Thomas Muller will break Euro 2016 drought - Miroslav Klose

Miroslav Klose remains confident Germany forward Thomas Muller will score his first goal at a European Championship this summer, telling Sport1: "He never gives in."

Klose, Germany's all-time leading scorer with 71 goals in 137 matches, was part of the successful 2014 World Cup campaign when Muller netted five times.

Muller also scored five at the 2010 World Cup, but he drew a blank when Germany reached the semifinals at Euro 2012 and has yet to open his account in France this summer.

The Bayern Munich star also missed a penalty in the shootout success against Italy last Saturday but Klose, who retired after the last World Cup, said he has every faith he will come good.

Speaking prior to Thursday's semifinal with hosts France, the 38-year-old said: "I am convinced that Muller will finally score. I just know him."

Muller's last tournament goal came in the 7-1 World Cup semifinal demolition of hosts Brazil on July 8 two years ago, but Klose is not concerned by the drought.

"It can always happen to a forward," he said. "But I see other things. He's always motivated, gives his all for the team, and works hard to reward himself. The most important thing is that he never gives in.

"If he scores the deciding goal in the final, just like Mario Gotze did in 2014, nobody will say anything about his missed chances so far."
