Gregorio Manzano set to take over as Guizhou Zhicheng coach

Gregorio Manzano is set to take over as head coach of Chinese Super League side Guizhou Zhicheng, replacing former China international Li Bing.

Manzano, who led Shanghai Shenhua to fourth place last season before being replaced by Gustavo Poyet, was pictured in the Chinese media after signing a contract with Guizhou.

No official announcement has yet been made by the club, but Li confirmed after his side's surprise win over Guangzhou R&F that president Wen Xiaoting had conducted interviews with both Manzano and former Brazil fullback Roberto Carlos.

"The president arrived in Spain on Tuesday or Wednesday, and she also met Roberto Carlos," he said.

Guizhou moved up to 11th place with Friday's 3-1 victory over R&F, which came thanks to a pair of goals from former Hull and Everton striker Nikica Jelavic.
