Cardiff's Chile international midfielder Gary Medel has said he is a target for an unnamed Serie A club or clubs amid rumours linking him with Inter Milan, Sky Sports have reported.
Medel was signed for the Bluebirds from Sevilla last summer by former manager Malky Mackay, but was unable to prevent them from being relegated back to the Championship after one season in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old's performances at the World Cup, in which Chile lost to hosts Brazil on penalties in the round of 16, have seen him linked with a move away from Wales.
And Sky quoted him as saying in the Chilean media: "I remain a Cardiff player, but doors are open to play elsewhere and I hope that happens.
"Nothing has been said yet, but I am wanted in Italy and that is a good possibility."
He said he expected to have recovered from a thigh problem in time for the new season, adding: "I am recovering slowly. The injury is serious because it is a tear, but I think recovery is in about a month, so I'll be well for the season."
Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer indicated that he would not block a move for Medel if the right offer came in, explaining: "He's shown in the World Cup how good a player he is, so we'll see what will happen."
