Gary Medel always keen on Inter move

New Inter Milan signing Gary Medel says he had the chance to join a number of clubs but always had his heart set on the Nerazzurri.

Medel, 27, completed his move from Cardiff to Inter earlier this month but was only officially unveiled by his new employers on Monday.

And the Chile international, who was relegated from the Premier League with the Bluebirds during his sole season in South Wales, is hoping for a successful spell at the San Siro.

"I am very happy to be here, I thank the club and my teammates who have welcomed me very well," Medel told a news conference.

"There were other teams interested in me, but I always wanted Inter Milan.

"I hope to help make history with Inter and to win so much with this shirt."

Medel joined Cardiff from Sevilla last summer and is looking forward to experiencing life in another of Europe's top leagues.

"Serie A is a big league like the Spanish and the English ones," he said.

"I want to do better than last season."
