Liverpool defender Jack Robinson signs with Queens Park Rangers

Defender Jack Robinson has left Liverpool to join QPR -- who have immediately loaned him out to Championship side Huddersfield for the season.

The 20-year-old left-back has signed a four-year deal at Loftus Road, having moved for an undisclosed fee.

Robinson made 11 appearances for Liverpool after graduating from their youth set-up. He was the club's youngest first-team player when he made his debut as a substitute in a Premier League match at Hull City in May 2010, at 16 years and 250 days, although that record was subsequently broken by Jerome Sinclair in 2012.

Robinson spent last season on loan in the Championship at Blackpool, and QPR boss Harry Redknapp is looking for the England under-21 international to gain further experience at Huddersfield.

Redknapp told QPR's website: "Jack is one for the future. He's a good young player. He'll continue his development at Huddersfield this season in the Championship, where I'm sure he'll do well."

Huddersfield are fifth from bottom of the Championship, and are currently without a manager, having sacked Mark Robins on Aug. 10.

Their caretaker-manager Mark Lillis said: "We learned early that Jack would become available once his permanent move across the Premier League to QPR was completed and acted upon it.

"He was impressive last season on loan at Blackpool and our assistant manager Steve Thompson, who worked closely with him there, speaks very highly of his qualities. Everything we've learned and heard about Jack has been positive."
