Alessio Cerci yet to decide on Atletico-Milan swap with Fernando Torres

Atletico Madrid midfielder Alessio Cerci insists he has yet to make up his mind over his future, after claims he would join AC Milan in a deal that would send Fernando Torres back to Spain.

Cerci, 27, has made just nine appearances for Atletico since arriving on Sept. 1 and has been unhappy with his lack of opportunities in La Liga.

Chelsea announced that Torres will join Milan on a permanent deal on Jan. 5, but any swap is reliant on Cerci making up his mind and Atletico sources have told Diario AS that a deal is not yet closed, saying: "We still have not received the go-ahead from Cerci."

Cerci revealed to his fans that he has yet to decide where his future lies, but for now he remains an Atletico player. "As always, whenever I read news about me, all I see is information which isn't true," the player wrote on his Facebook account.

"I haven't turned anyone down and nor have I signed anything with anyone. I am an Atlético de Madrid player and I am considering the best option for both parties."

Earlier on Saturday, Atletico assistant coach German Burgos appeared confident that a deal would be done that would see Torres return to Madrid.

"It is on the verge of completion and we are waiting for things to firm up," Burgos was quoted as saying in Spanish media. "He [Torres] will be a very important reinforcement for the second half of the season. We will get the best out of him, the same as everyone, and he knows where he is coming to."
