Ligue 2 club Brest booked a Coupe de France quarterfinal meeting with Auxerre by overcoming top-flight side Metz in a penalty shootout.
The promotion hopefuls held Ligue 1 strugglers Metz to a goalless draw at Stade Saint-Symphorien and, after 120 minutes of play, spot-kicks were required and the Brittany outfit prevailed 4-3.
Brest will entertain fellow second-tier members Auxerre in the last eight while reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain host Monaco, third division Boulogne welcome St Etienne and holders Guingamp visit minnows Concarneau of the Championnat de France Amateur.
