Leicester's Kelechi Iheanacho sidelined after breaking his hand with Nigeria

Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho did not feature in Nigeria's 2-0 loss to Serbia after fracturing his hand prior to the game on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, we have one broken hand," said Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr said before the game.

"This player cannot play. He has fractured the first metacarpal. This is Kelechi Iheanacho."

Iheanacho is set to return to Leicester, where he will be assessed by the Foxes' medical team.

The former Manchester City striker moved to Leicester in August 2017 after signing a five-year deal with the club.

Claude Puel's men, who beat West Brom 4-1 last time out in the league with Iheanacho among the scorers, face Brighton on Saturday.
