No criminal charges to be filed in stabbing of Rapids' Marco Pappa

No criminal charges will be filed against the former Miss Washington USA in the December stabbing of Colorado Rapids midfielder Marco Pappa.

According to the Denver Post, police records show the former Seattle Sounders player was found bleeding from stab wounds in his Seattle apartment on Dec. 17. In addition to Pappa, authorities found a bloody kitchen knife and Stormy Keffeler, his ex-girlfriend, with blood on her hands.

"No criminal charges are being filed. The case has been declined as legally insufficient," King County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Dan Donohoe told the paper on Thursday.

Keffeler resigned her crown as Miss Washington USA in January for not disclosing a previous drunken-driving conviction to pageant officials.

The Seattle Sounders traded Pappa to the Colorado Rapids for allocation money on Dec. 15, two days before the incident.
