MANCHESTER -- There is a strong possibility that Yaya Toure will be offered a new contract at the end of the season, club sources have told ESPN FC.
The former Ivory Coast midfielder's current deal expires at the end of June and he is still yet to be informed whether he will be offered a new contract.
Toure is one of seven players -- Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Willy Caballero, Jesus Navas and Tosin Adarabioyo -- whose current contracts are set to run out and the club say they will make their final decision at the end of the season, with City still competing to secure a Champions League place.
ESPN FC has been told that Navas and Adarabioyo have been offered new deals.
However, Zabaleta will definitely leave the club after informing City that he wanted to leave because he felt he was at the stage of his career where he could no longer keep up with the demands of competing in four trophies.
The Argentine is set for an emotional farewell in City's last home game of the season on Tuesday night against West Bromwich Albion. The game could also be Toure's last at the Etihad Stadium unless a new deal is agreed.
However, Toure has said that he wants to stay at the club and sources have told ESPN FC there is a good chance that he will now be offered a new deal.
His City career looked to be over when he was left out for the first three months of the season after comments from his agent Dimitri Seluk criticising manager Pep Guardiola.
But he returned to the first-team after apologising and has become an integral part of Guardiola's first season at City, following a long-term injury to Ilkay Gundogan, and has gone on to make 26 starts.
