Manchester City defender Maicon has denied he will leave England in the summer after speculation linked him with a move back to Brazil.
Maicon, 31, was reportedly the subject of interest from Atletico Mineiro and has been tipped to leave City in search of regular football elsewhere.
The Brazil international has only made seven Premier League appearances under Roberto Mancini this season and has been troubled by injuries and inconsistent form since moving to the Etihad last year.
But despite being relegated to appearances from the bench given the form of Pablo Zabaleta at right-back, Maicon was quick to deny he has requested a summer transfer.
"I can completely guarantee you that I'll not leave," Maicon told Lancenet. "I'm calm and I don't care about what they wrote about me.
"My only objective is to help the team and don't have any more injuries, as my goal is to return to the national team.
"I didn't have one of my best seasons, I had physical problems that prevented me from playing all the games as I used to. It was a complicated season, but I recovered in the last part of the season and I'm prepared to help the team."
