Villa quoted £10m for Hiroshi Kiyotake

Aston Villa have been quoted around £10 million for the purchase of Nurnberg midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake.

Villa are looking for more midfield guile as they come to terms with the news that Charles N’Zogbia will be absent for several months with an Achilles injury.

Barry Bannan and Stephen Ireland are set to depart and Japan international Kiyotake, 23, impressed Villa manager Paul Lambert in the Bundesliga after arriving in 2012 from Cerezo Osaka.

Hughes: Attack best form of defence

Lambert, a former Borussia Dortmund player, has excellent contacts in Germany and an enquiry has been made.

Villa now have to decide whether to follow that up with a permanent bid after Nurnburg revealed they were looking for €12 million for Kiyotake, who they would ideally like to keep.

Kiyotake has won 19 international caps and played against Brazil in this summer’s Confederations Cup. He moved to the Bundesliga after having impressed with Japan at the London Olympics.
