Florian Marange 'disgusted' with Palace

Florian Marange has declared himself "disgusted" after being consigned to the sidelines after he was omitted from Crystal Palace's Premier League squad list.

Daly: No transfer sentiment

Marange, 27, was one of 16 summer arrivals at the newly promoted club as Palace sought to build a squad able to maintain their top-flight status.

However, with Ian Holloway only able to select 25 players aged over 21 for the season, Marange finds himself joining fellow new arrival Stephen Dobbie watching from the stands.

"I'm disgusted," the former Bordeaux man told L'Equipe. "If I'd have known about this rule, I would have had a clause inserted into my contract. But my advisor didn't warn me about it. And now I'm being told it's my fault.

"I wasn't presented to the media. I haven't done any official photos, and I'm still waiting for my club suit. I stayed at a hotel for 15 days before moving in, and the club told me that I have to pay the bill."

Palace certainly appear to have done little to make Marange, -- who had also been tracked by Bastia and Livorno following the expiry of his contract in France -- feel welcome, even mistakenly adding a photo of his former Bordeaux team-mate Fernando to the story about the defender's arrival on their website last month.

Though he and his family have just moved into their new home, Marange was also unable to find a place for his three children in the French schools of the British capital.

"It's a real nightmare. It's true that I have a decent contract, I earn a little more than in Bordeaux, but the cost of living is ten times higher in London. And I came here to play," said the left-back, who made his sole Palace appearance to date in their Capital One Cup defeat to Bristol City last month.

"We lost but I wasn't to blame for the two goals. I must have had only seven or eight training sessions. How can you judge a player after ten days?"

Marange, who could yet be loaned out by Palace, is due to meet officials at the London club on Wednesday in a bid to clarify his future.

"Either I cancel my contract or I wait for the winter transfer window to find a club."
