Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel has escaped disciplinary action from the Football Association, despite appearing to raise his hands towards Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini during Sunday's 2-2 draw.
• Brewin: Three things
Referee Neil Swarbrick failed to see the incident at the Cardiff City Stadium, meaning it was reviewed by the FA's panel of former referees.
The panel, however, decided on Monday that the incident was not worthy of a red card so no action is to be taken.
Sunday’s clash caused further controversy when Swarbrick only showed a yellow card to Wayne Rooney, despite a lunge on Jordan Mutch.
Elsewhere, referee Kevin Friend has not been given a match for the next two rounds of Premier League games after he sent off Wes Brown during Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat to Stoke City.
The Black Cats have confirmed that they will appeal against the red card -- given to Brown despite the defender appearing to win the ball following a challenge on Charlie Adam.
