Danilo D'Ambrosio raring to go at Inter

Torino full-back Danilo D'Ambrosio cannot wait for his move to Inter Milan to go through as he prepares to kick-start his career at the San Siro.

D'Ambrosio, 25, has not played since Dec. 8 after requesting to leave the Turin club this winter.

The Granata have since obliged and the player underwent a medical in Milan on Wednesday, ahead of the transfer being finalised.

"I'm delighted to be joining Inter," he told reporters in Milan. "I'll give it all I've got for this club from the very first moment. My personal goal is to show the best of me while, with the team, we want to qualify for Europe, and I hope we make it.

"I'm looking forward to getting to know my new teammates once I've passed my medical. I've already spoken to [coach Walter] Mazzarri. I come here with the humility that has defined my career so far."

D'Ambrosio will become the first new signing of Erick Thohir's reign as president when he signs on the dotted line, and his first game for the Nerazzurri could come back in Turin against Juventus on Sunday evening.

The left-back has spent his entire career with Torino, playing 123 times and scoring 10 goals, before requesting a move away from the club.

"It's only right that D'Ambrosio gets this chance to play in a big club, or at least a club with a big name," Torino coach Giampiero Ventura told Mediaset. "I knew he had an agreement with Inter. He deserves it."
