Ligue 1 wrap

Grenier, 23, watched his team's 2-1 home loss to their rivals from the Stade de Gerland stands due to injury.

Furious that referee Ruddy Buquet did not award OL a penalty when visiting defender Moustapha Bayal Sall appeared to have handled the ball, Grenier saw the official after the final whistle, and cameras in the tunnel caught him appear to say: "It's not glasses he needs, it's a labrador."

The French international will likely be hauled before the French Football League's (LFP) Disciplinary Commission in the coming weeks to answer for his behaviour, with such insults towards officials frowned upon.

OL have been the subject of a number of controversial refereeing decisions in recent weeks.

Following their recent 3-2 home defeat by Monaco, referee Fredy Fautrel apologised publicly for his assistant referees failing to spot all three Monaco goals should have been ruled out.

Grenier was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle in January, but confirmed he would stay with the Ligue 1 club for the rest of the season with playing at the World Cup his top objective.
