Mike Idoko: Lobi Stars still a work in progress

Lobi Stars chairman Mike Idoko has saluted the perfect start enjoyed by his team in the second round of the league, making it clear that the Makurdi-based club is a work in progress.

The football administrator who was once in charge at the now defunct NPA of Lagos and Sunshine Stars of Akure, spoke with reporters after Sunday's 3-0 home win against Shooting Stars, a second successive win which has seen Lobi Stars climb to sixth on the league table.

"We have gone about six matches and we have not lost any. I am very happy with the result but there's still a long way to go," Idoko told Goal.com.

"Lobi Stars is still a team in the building process, no team is hundred percent perfect, even the football super powers like Brazil, Germany and the likes are still building.

"The basic thing here is that the boys seem to have understood themselves a bit but there's still room for improvement.

"I'd like you to understand that during the midseason transfer window, we looked at areas we needed to fortify and we went to the market.

"We are building a team and we want to do that quietly. Now any team that wants to play against us will buckle up and by the end of the season we hope to have achieved our target," Idoko concluded.

Next up for Lobi Stars on Sunday, is a trip to face Kano Pillars on match day 22 in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
