Victor Moses, Isaac Success out of Nigeria squad with injuries

Premier League duo Victor Moses and Isaac Success have both withdrawn from the Nigeria squad with injuries.

Chelsea winger Moses and Watford striker Success had been called up as part of the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia on Oct. 9, but the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) received letters over the weekend saying both had picked up fitness problems.

Moses has hamstring trouble and Success, who scored for Watford in their 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth on Saturday, has a knock and is finding it difficult to walk.

Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr has now called up national-based players Godwin Obaje and Chisom Egbuchulam to take the places of the injured duo.

Obaje, on the books of Wikki Tourists, finished the recently ended Nigeria Professional Football League season as top scorer with 18 goals, steering the Bauchi club to a third-place finish, which has earned them a slot in next year's CAF Confederation Cup.

Enugu Rangers forward Egbuchulam finished just behind Obaje with 15 goals, including a hat trick as his side concluded a triumphant season with a 4-0 home win over El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday as they lifted the title for the first time in 32 years.
