Luuk de Jong has extended his contract with PSV Eindhoven by a further year until 2020.
De Jong, 25, joined PSV from Newcastle in 2014 and was named captain following the sale of Georginio Wijnaldum a year later.
He said: "When I first signed for PSV, the plan was to play here for two years and then consider my options.
"But things have gone better than expected. I am feeling appreciated here and feeling at home, which is important to me.
"I am very happy that I will stay at PSV. I am in the right place here."
De Jong has won consecutive Eredivisie titles with PSV and scored 58 goals in 89 games in all competitions.
