RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulasci: Liverpool UCL tie would be a dream

Peter Gulasci has told kicker it would be "a dream" to return to Liverpool when RB Leipzig make their Champions League debut next season.

Goalkeeper Gulasci joined Liverpool in 2007 as a 17-year-old, first on loan and then on a permanent basis the following year.

However, the Hungary international failed to make a competitive appearance for the Reds and spent time on loan at Hereford United, Tranmere Rovers and Hull City.

He joined Red Bull Salzburg in 2013 and from there went to RB Leipzig, also funded by the soft drinks manufacturer.

He has played in 31 league games this season as Leipzig secured Champions League qualification on their Bundesliga debut and said: "It would be a dream to play Liverpool. I still have a lot of friends there.

"But, fundamentally, the opponents don't matter. We will have a lot of fun in the Champions League.

"It's an unbelievable success for the club to compete against the biggest teams in Europe next season, and we want to show that we are really good."
