Plymouth continue red-hot form with AFC Wimbledon victory

Plymouth continued their rich vein of form with a 4-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon at Home Park. The Pilgrims took the lead after 16 minutes when Carey charged down a Callum Kennedy clearance before calmly slotting past George Long. The visitors hit back thanks to Lyle Taylor in the 37th minute after a great defence-splitting pass from full-back Barry Fuller was expertly put away from the Dons striker.Plymouth regained the lead through an unlikely source as David Fox drilled a volley into the roof of the net for his first league goal since March 2016.Argyle increased their lead when a Fox free-kick was parried to Ryan Taylor, who tapped in from close range just before the break.Taylor grabbed his second of the night to reduce the deficit in fortuitous fashion after a defensive mix-up saw Sonny Bradley's attempted clearance hit the striker and roll into the net. However, Plymouth restored their two-goal when Ruben Lamieras latched onto a long ball before slotting home to make it 4-2, with home goalkeeper Remi Matthews denying Taylor his hat-trick with a late penalty save.
