Sporting Gijon move out of bottom three to add to Osasuna's problems

Sporting Gijon climbed out of LaLiga's relegation zone with their first win in three months as they condemned rock bottom Osasuna to a 3-1 defeat. Carlos Carmona's double and Pereira Douglas gave the hosts their first victory since September, ending an 11-game winless run. Miguel Flano scored a late consolation for the visitors, but Osasuna have won just once in the league this season and have now lost their last five games in all competitions and remain at the foot of the table.Victory left Sporting two points above Deportivo La Coruna, but they will drop back into the bottom three if Deportivo beat Real Sociedad on Monday.Sporting won two and drew one of their opening three games, yet had not tasted victory since, but Carmona's header three minutes before the break set them up for a much-needed triumph. The hosts dominated for long spells and Osasuna failed to register a shot on target before Douglas made sure of victory after 56 minutes.Carmona went close after 66 minutes and the former Barcelona B winger did grab his second at the Estadio El Molinon when he lobbed Nauzet Perez with 11 minutes left. Oriol Riera tried to net a late consolation, his long-range effort flying wide, but the visitors did finally pull a goal back with four minutes left. Flano converted from close range with Osasuna's first shot on target, but it was too late to salvage anything.
