Peter Weatherson strikes twice as Annan win on the road

Leading scorer Peter Weatherson netted a brace as Annan recorded only their second win in eight matches with a 3-1 triumph over Queen's Park.Fourth-placed Queen's Park started the game four points and one place above Annan in League Two but their hopes of extending that gap were crushed inside 45 minutes as the visitors raced into a three-goal lead at Hampden.Weatherson opened the scoring with an unstoppable 15th-minute free-kick - his third dead-ball strike in successive matches - and he made it 2-0 in the 27th minute, following up to net his 13th league goal of the season after Matt Flynn's initial effort had been saved.Flynn himself made it 3-0 six minutes later with a fine finish and, although Queen's Park pulled a consolation goal back in stoppage time through John Carter, Annan had already done all they needed to claim the points.
