Saints sink Annan

St Mirren came from behind to win 2-1 at Annan in the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup.
The hosts were in front after one minute, Peter Weatherson firing home a spot-kick after Josh Todd was fouled in the box just seconds after kick-off. Weatherson nearly made it two inside the opening five minutes as Jamie Langfield saved well to stop his close-range effort.
Calum Gallagher nearly got the leveller for the Saints but Jordan Hart did brilliantly to tip his header past the post.
Jordan Stewart scored the Scottish Championship side's equaliser after 50 minutes, his low drive brilliantly powering into the corner and out of Hart's reach.
Alan Gow completed the turnaround after 66 minutes, finishing well with a low shot after good work on the wing by Gallagher.
Paul McMullan nearly made it three in stoppage time, as Hart saved well, but St Mirren avoid an upset to advance into the third round.
