Lega Pro club Alessandria will tackle Italian giants AC Milan in the semifinals of the Coppa Italia. The Piedmontese minnows shocked Serie A opponents Palermo and Genoa on their way to reaching the last eight, where they were pitted against second-tier side Spezia. Emanuele Calaio gave Spezia the lead with a first-half penalty but two late goals from Riccardo Bocalon made it 2-1 to Alessandria. Their prize is the chance to face five-time cup winners Milan over two legs, with the Rossoneri first visiting the tiny Stadio Giuseppe Moccagatta before heading back to San Siro.
