Cavani hits twice as PSG win to go level with Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain went level on points with Ligue 1 leaders Monaco after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Bordeaux.

Monaco retain a game in hand, against Metz on Saturday, and a goal difference advantage of 15, but will be under pressure to maintain their fine form.

Two superb goals from Edinson Cavani either side of Angel Di Maria's cool finish secured second-placed PSG's victory.

Cavani's first came in only the sixth minute when, as a headed clearance fell to his feet, he powerfully volleyed from the edge of the area and into the back of the net beyond goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso.

Di Maria's came in the 40th, as he raced onto a fine through-ball from Marco Verratti to go clear of Bordeaux's defence and calmly chip Carrasso.

Cavani's second, in the 47th minute, was equally impressive. On the break, Di Maria sent a left-wing cross into the penalty area and the striker classily volleyed back across the face of goal and inside the left post.
