Besiktas and Dynamo Kiev share points in 1-1 UCL draw

Besiktas and Dynamo Kiev shared the points in their Champions League clash at the BJK Inonu Stadium as they drew 1-1 on Wednesday night.

Hosts Besiktas opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark through Ricardo Quaresma's unstoppable free kick and continued to dominate throughout the game with Dynamo struggling to get the ball up the pitch.

The Super Lig side could not find a second and were left to rue their missed chances when a well-taken strike from substitute Viktor Tsygankov drew Kiev level midway through the second half and pick up their first point of this season's competition.

Senol Gunes' side were in control throughout the match, particularly in the first half, and took the lead on 28 minutes. Besiktas won a free kick outside the area and the resulting strike from Quaresma flew into the top left corner.

Despite Besiktas increasing the pressure, the travelling side showed their resilience and equalised through 18-year-old Tsygankov in the 65th minute, just three minutes after he made his appearance from the bench.

Sergiy Rybalka's free kick from the right whipped across the face of goal and after some indecision from Besiktas goalkeeper Fabricio, Tsygankov pounced at the far post to slot Dynamo level.

Besiktas struggled after the goal but, despite making a strong comeback in the second half, Dynamo could not capitalise on their momentum, leaving the game level at the final whistle.
