England under-18s scored two penalties to beat Japan U19s 2-1 and top Group A with a 100 percent record at the Toulon Tournament.

George Hirst opened the scoring for England from the penalty spot in the 26th minute after Kosuke Tanaka brought down Daniel Kemp inside the penalty box.

After piling on the pressure, Japan pulled level in the 59th minute through Mizuki Ando, who slotted home with a clever finish.

But England were awarded another penalty 12 minutes from the end when Yugo Tatsuta fouled Demetri Mitchell, with Martell Taylor-Crossdale stepping up to convert the winner.
