Blackburn overcome missed penalty to beat Oxford

Substitute Jack Payne's first goal for Blackburn secured a 2-1 victory over Oxford in front of a jubilant Ewood Park.
It was a game of firsts as Darragh Lenihan's first for the club put Blackburn ahead and even Charlie Mulgrew's missed penalty couldn't dampen spirits.
James Henry's equaliser threatened to derail the celebrations but former Oxford loanee Payne fired the winner as Blackburn comfortably finished second in League One.
The partisan crowd were treated to an early goal as Mulgrew's 12th-minute free-kick was met by Lenihan, who powered his header past Simon Eastwood.
The Oxford stopper superbly repelled Adam Armstrong before David Raya denied John Mousinho's header at the other end.
Eastwood's foul on Elliott Bennett before the break gave Mulgrew the chance to double the lead, but the goalkeeper superbly tipped behind.
The U's made their hosts pay in the 66th minute as Henry's near-post half-volley was directed past Raya but Payne settled proceedings 10 minutes later, lashing a left-foot shot in via a deflection.
