Potter casts spell on Newport

Alfie Potter scored a hat-trick as Mansfield Town demolished visiting Newport County 5-0 to maintain their chase of a top-three finish.
In a whirlwind first half, Mansfield blew the Welsh club away with four unanswered goals.
Danny Rose tucked away Krystian Pearce's low pull-back from the left for the opener on six minutes and three minutes later, CJ Hamilton's burst of pace and pull-back set up Potter for a blistering finish.
After Joss Labadie had seen a 22nd-minute effort ruled out for offside, it was 3-0 on 28 minutes as Potter blazed home his second as the ball came back off the bar from Rose's initial effort from Mal Benning's low cross.
The fourth came on 34 minutes as Alex MacDonald crashed home a half-cleared corner from 18 yards.
After Rhys Bennett had hit a post and Kane Hemmings had missed a sitter, Potter's hat-trick came on 61 minutes as he fired back across Day from Hamilton's low cross.
Ricky Miller and Hemmings also forced keeper Joe Day to save with his legs on a night of one-way traffic.
